Samantha Champi

Samantha Champi ’17 arrived at UC San Diego in 2013, as part of the first cohort of Chancellor’s Associates Scholars. She notes that “when I got accepted to UC San Diego, I didn’t even consider it an option; I would not have been able to attend without this scholarship.” Now a graduate ready to pursue her master’s degree, she hopes to work as an advisor for low-income and first-generation students and is already serving as a mentor. Samantha is dedicated to helping other students like her. “I help high-school students make sure they are on the road to graduation and reassure them that college is possible,” she says. Samantha and her peers from the graduating class of 2017 are on their way to becoming our community’s newest young leaders.
